The mission of Strathcona Christian Academy Elementary School is to challenge students, through Christ-centered education, to know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord in order to pursue a life of godly character, personal and academic excellence, and service to others.
Intellectually
Our teachers and students are serious about learning. We choose teachers carefully because everyone who is fully trained will be like his teacher. Luke 6:40. All of our students at SCA Elementary, more than 570, follow the Government of Alberta curriculum, interpreted from a Christian perspective. Our teachers, government certified and committed Christians, enable SCA Elementary to offer a strong academic program with three classes of each grade. Our school currently has 35 teaching staff and 11 support staff.
Spiritually
Train up a child in the way he should go. Proverbs 22:6.
On a daily basis students enjoy devotions, Bible reading, praying and singing. Bible classes are a part of the curriculum for all grades. Through these activities, a chapel program and teachers who are strong role models, we seek to lead children into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Grade 6 students also experience a Spiritual Emphasis Camp each fall to help them focus on God’s will for their lives.
